How the deposit works
- A deposit is required to hold your table. Tables at El Squid Roe are limited, so the deposit reserves your spot for the date and party size you choose.
- Your deposit is credited 100% toward your tab on the night you visit. When you arrive and give your confirmation code, the amount you paid is applied to your bill — you are not paying twice.
- The deposit is a small part of the total you will spend. You pay the remaining balance at your table on the night of your visit.
Cancellations & refunds
- More than 72 hours before your reservation date: full refund. Cancel for any reason and we refund your deposit in full to the original payment method.
- Inside 72 hours of your reservation date: the deposit is non-refundable, but it does not disappear. We can apply it in full toward a rescheduled date that works for you.
- No-shows are treated as a cancellation inside 72 hours. Reach out before your date and we will always try to help you reschedule.
Rescheduling
Need a different night? Just ask. If you reschedule more than 72 hours out there is no penalty. Inside 72 hours we apply your existing deposit to the new date — you keep every dollar. Request a change through Manage Booking or by email.
Changing your table
Ask us and we will move your reservation to a different table when one is available for your date and party size. Because your deposit is credited to your tab, it has to match the table you actually have, so the difference is always settled — never left as a balance.
- Moving to a larger or higher-priced table: you pay the difference in deposit before the change takes effect. We send you a payment link, or charge the card you booked with if you asked us to make the change. Your table only moves once that payment goes through.
- Moving to a smaller or lower-priced table: we refund the difference in deposit to the card you booked with, usually within 5-10 business days. Your reservation stays active and the 72-hour rule keeps applying to it.
- About the card you booked with: Stripe keeps it on file so we can settle a change you request. We never charge it for anything you have not asked for, and you can tell us to remove it at any time by replying to your confirmation email.
A table change is not a cancellation. If you later cancel, the 72-hour rule applies to the reservation as it stands, and anything you paid toward an upgrade is refunded with it.
How to cancel or request a refund
The fastest way is your Manage Booking page — open it with the confirmation code from your booking email and choose cancel or reschedule. You can also email us at info@elsquidroe.com with your name and confirmation code and we will take care of it.
Confirmation & proof of terms
When you book, you receive an email confirmation with your code and these terms. By paying the deposit you agree to this policy, including the 72-hour rule. This page is the authoritative reference for our cancellation and deposit terms.
Refund questions, answered
Is my deposit refundable?+
Yes — if you cancel more than 72 hours before your reservation date, your deposit is refunded in full. Inside 72 hours it is non-refundable but can be applied to a rescheduled date. Note: once you move your date, the deposit transfers to the new night and is no longer eligible for a cash refund.
What happens to my deposit when I show up?+
It is credited 100% toward your bill. Give your confirmation code at the table and the amount you paid online is applied to what you spend that night.
What is the cancellation deadline?+
72 hours before your reservation date. Cancel before that window for a full refund. Inside the window the deposit becomes non-refundable but transfers to a new date.
How do I request a refund or cancel?+
Use the Manage Booking page with your confirmation code, or email info@elsquidroe.com with your name and confirmation code. We confirm every cancellation by email.
Can I change my reservation date instead of canceling?+
Yes. We apply your full deposit to the new date with no penalty. Heads up: once you move your date, that deposit locks to the new night and is no longer eligible for a cash refund — so cancel-for-refund and move-the-date are an either/or choice.
