HOW IT WORKS & FAQ
Deposits, minimum spend, dress code, and everything else before your night at El Squid Roe.

Your online deposit counts toward your total — it's not an extra charge. You pay a little now to lock in your table, and the rest at the venue. That's it.
What does the online deposit cover?+
Your online deposit secures your table or package for the date you choose — it's not a separate fee. The deposit is applied toward your total: whatever you pay online is subtracted from your balance, and you settle the rest at the venue on the night of your reservation.
What is the difference between the deposit and the minimum spend?+
The deposit is the amount you pay now to lock in your reservation. The minimum spend (or total) is the full value of your package — bottles, mixers, and table. Your deposit counts toward that total. Example: if your package total is $129 and your deposit is part of it, you only owe the remaining balance at the venue, not $129 on top of the deposit.
How do I pay the balance?+
You pay the remaining balance in person at El Squid Roe on the night of your reservation. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and cash (USD or MXN).
What's included with bottle service?+
Each bottle-service table includes your reserved table for the night, your bottle(s) of premium liquor, mixers/setups, and a host to take care of you. The exact inclusions are listed on every package before you book.
Is gratuity included?+
Some packages include gratuity and some don't — it's shown clearly on each package and on your confirmation. Where gratuity isn't included, standard tipping for your host and servers applies at the venue.
What is the minimum age to enter?+
El Squid Roe is all-ages during the day for breakfast, lunch and dinner — families are welcome. After 10:00 pm it's strictly 18 and over. Everyone must bring a valid government-issued photo ID with a current photo; no exceptions at night.
Is there a dress code?+
Come as you are — El Squid Roe is famously casual. Clothing and shoes are required, but tank tops, t-shirts, shorts, sandals/flip-flops, sneakers, beach attire, jerseys and hats are all welcome. The doorman reserves the right to refuse entry at their discretion.
What are El Squid Roe's hours?+
The bar is open every day, 9:00 am to 3:00 am, all year long. Breakfast is served 9:00 am–1:00 pm and the kitchen runs until 10:00 pm for lunch and dinner. Dancing is encouraged at all hours — most guests end up doing the macarena on top of their table.
What kind of music do you play?+
It's music for all ages. Days start with hits from the '70s, '80s and '90s, then the night crosses over to party anthems, hip-hop, rap, EDM and reggaeton. Follow our socials for live performances and special events.
Where can I park?+
There are several private parking lots around downtown — always check the price before entering. A safe bet is the Puerto Paraíso mall lot, about a 5-minute walk away (roughly $1 USD/hour). Street parking is easier if you arrive earlier in the evening.
What time should we arrive?+
The club gets busy after 10:30pm and peaks 11pm–1:30am. For table service, arriving by 11pm gets you the most out of your night. Your reservation holds your table — just check in with the host and give your reservation code.
Can I cancel or get a refund?+
Yes — deposits are refundable up to 72 hours before your reservation date. Within 72 hours the deposit is non-refundable, but you can reschedule to another date (subject to availability). Use the Manage Booking page or contact us to cancel or move your date.
Can I change my date?+
Yes. You can reschedule to any available future date from the Manage Booking page using your email and confirmation code, as long as the new date has availability.
What's included with bottle service?+
Your own reserved table for the night, your bottle(s) of premium liquor, all the mixers and setups, and a host to take care of your group. Express skip-the-line entry is included, and the exact bottles and extras are listed on every package before you book.
What do I need to bring to the door?+
Three things: your confirmation/e-ticket (on your phone or printed), the original government-issued photo ID of the person who booked, and the original credit card used to pay. Only the reservation holder can claim the table credit.
How will I get my confirmation?+
Right after you pay, you'll see your reservation code on the confirmation screen and receive it by email. Keep that code — you'll use it to check in at the venue and to manage your booking.
Can I add bottles or upgrades before I arrive?+
Yes. Many packages let you add bottles, upgrades, and add-ons during checkout, and you can always add more with your host on the night. Adding ahead of time guarantees availability for big groups.
Does El Squid Roe have open bar?+
No — since July 2026, El Squid Roe is bottle-service only. There are 8 reserved VIP table tiers ($400–$4,379 USD, fitting groups of 4 to 40) that include premium bottles, mixers, a host, and express skip-the-line entry — no all-you-can-drink wristbands.
Who owns Squid Roe Cabo?+
El Squid Roe was dreamed up in 1988 by legendary Mexican restaurateur Carlos Anderson — who sketched it on a bar napkin — and his partner Billy, who opened the doors in downtown Cabo San Lucas in 1989. It's a 100% Mexican company, operated today by Operadora Calamar S.A. de C.V., with the brand managed by Cabo Hospitality LLC.
What should I wear to El Squid Roe in Cabo?+
Whatever you want — El Squid Roe has no dress code. Tank tops, t-shirts, shorts, sandals, sneakers, jerseys and hats are all welcome; the only real rule is comfortable shoes you can dance in, because you will end up on a table.
Is El Squid Roe safe?+
Yes. El Squid Roe sits in the well-lit heart of downtown Cabo San Lucas on the Marina corridor, with door staff who ID everyone — strictly 18+ after 10 pm, physical government ID required — and a team that has been running the party safely since 1989.
Is squid roe edible?+
Yes — squid roe the seafood is an edible delicacy in Japanese and Mediterranean cooking. But in Cabo San Lucas, "Squid Roe" means El Squid Roe: the world-famous three-floor nightclub downtown, where the only thing getting eaten is tacos and the only thing raw is the energy.
